This is what you'll do: Provide care for pregnant women and their families when the pregnancy is complicated by known or suspected conditions in the developing fetus. Our program integrates obstetric and pediatric specialty care for families facing complicated pregnancy management or decision-making. When a disorder is detected before birth, outcomes may be improved by treating the fetus or by condition-specific management of the pregnancy, labor and delivery. Reasons for referral include abnormal prenatal screening or chromosome analysis, suspected fetal structural abnormalities, risks identified through genetic testing or genetic counseling, maternal health conditions which may affect the fetus and family history of a child with a congenital abnormality or genetic disorders. As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient's family, significant others, and members of the health care team. Clinic RNs may be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. Assists in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), ART, etc. At the Tri-Cities clinic, you will be functioning at the top of your practice performing clinic nursing care, patient education, telephone triage, referral review and coordination of care for our prenatal diagnostic center. The clinic nurses generally work 8 hour day shifts. Work schedules may vary every week. Flexibility to work varied schedule is required. This position is (3) three days per week. For training and orientation, all clinic RNs will be required to make two trips (reimbursed) to Seattle for new hire training at Seattle Children's Hospital within the first 90 days of hire. Thereafter, limited or infrequent additional travel will be required for annual training and observation at Seattle Children's Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Required Education/Experience:| + Graduate of accredited school of nursing + Minimum one (2) years of current nursing experience Required Credentials: + Current Washington State RN License, active and in good standing with the Dept. of Health. + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions and must be maintained at all times.
